Julie Joohee Jeon is a versatile composer, singer-songwriter, music director and instrumentalist who creates music for film, multimedia and musical theatre. She writes and performs in a wide range of musical genres including classical orchestral, jazz, rock, pop, and electronic music. Julie has achieved a Master of Music in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University. At NYU, she has studied with Mark Suozzo, Irwin Fisch, Joseph Church, Michael Patterson, Richard Shemaria, Todd Kasow, and Isabel Diaz-Cassou. Julie is a Korean-Canadian who earned Bachelor of Music in integrated studies of voice performance and music education at University of Calgary, and a certificate of conducting at Capilano University in Vancouver. Julie conducted school bands, orchestra, her own church ensemble, and choir. She was an assistant music director and actress in ‘Hessed,’— a musical theatre ensemble.

Additionally, Julie worked on a musical The House of Setting Sun (2015) as a composer and music director, which premiered at the New School in November, 2015, and Midtown International Theatre Festival and Dream Up Festival in 2016. She has composed music for numbers of musicals, films, animations, documentaries, trailers, web series, dance, advertisements, and more. Many of the films she worked were premiered, selected and won festivals all around the world such as Directors Guild of America Student Film Award, Manhattan Film Festival, Digital Box Office Awards, Cinema New York City Film Festival, Rack Focus Film Festival, BMCC Film Festival, Festival of the Hunt, Americana Music and Film Festival, Museum of the City of New York, Johns Hopkins Film Festival, NYC Independent Film Festival, and more.
