Julie Joohee Jeon is a passionate young composer, conductor, singer-songwriter, and instrumentalist. As a versatile composer, she writes and performs in a range of musical genres from classical orchestral to jazz and pop. Julie is a Korean-Canadian who studied classical voice at Capilano University and University of Calgary. She earned a certificate of conducting at Capilano University, and a Bachelor of Music in integrated studies of voice performance and music education at University of Calgary. Julie conducted school bands, her own church ensemble, and choir. Additionally, she was an assistant music director and actress in "Hessed", a musical theatre ensemble. Julie worked on a musical In Life and Death as a composer and music director at The New School.
Currently, Julie is pursuing a Master of Music in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University. At NYU, she has studied with Mark Suozzo, Irwin Fisch, Joseph Church, Michael Patterson, Richard Shemaria, and Todd Kasow.
